LOCAL HOTEL INFORMATION
We have arranged a group block rate at the nearby Hotel Durant, in Berkeley. The Hotel Durant is a charming hotel just steps from campus and very close to the conference venue. It has a very good restaurant and bar that will serve as a great informal meeting place.
We have secured a special rate, of $159.00 US, for either a King or Double room. There a limited number of rooms, SO PLEASE BOOK EARLY. Should we sell out, the hotel will add more rooms at the WeBiG rate if available. Rooms can be booked directly with this link below, or with the hotel reservations line direct, (800-238-7268), or (510-845-8981) (tell them you want the WEBIG rate). Rooms can be shared, please call the hotel to add names on as needed.

Locating Wurster Hall
(Oct 11th Friday Plenary and Oct 12th Saturday Registration/Talks/Poster Sessions)
From the Durant Hotel:
Exit the hotel and head east to College Avenue. Once at College, turn left and head north towards campus (you will pass Café Strada at the intersection of Bancroft and College). Continue along the path northwards, you will see Kroeber Hall to your left. Immediately across Kroeber is Wurster Hall (the name is difficult to see). When you enter the main doors to Wurster, room 112 is immediately to your left. The poster sessions will be held on the ground level as well, across room 112, next to Ramona’s (the café to your right as you enter Wurster).
From other areas:
Wurster hall is located in the south-eastern end of campus (see map below). The best way to reach it on foot from the downtown Berkeley area is to walk up Bancroft Avenue (eastward) until you reach the intersection with College Avenue. Then turn left and continue walking north. You will pass Kroeber Hall to your left, and Wurster will be on your right just after that.
Locating the Archaeological Research Facility from Wurster Hall
(Oct 11th, Registration & Reception):
Exit the main Wurster doors (the same ones you came in). Turn left and continue on slightly towards Kroeber Hall. When you near Kroeber Hall, turn left again and walk up the small path (between the bike racks). At the end of the path you will see a large red-brick building, this is the ARF.
Please refer to this map for additional help. The red arrows refer to the path you would take from the Durant Hotel to Wurster Hall. The Archaeological Research Facility (ARF) is just a little bit east of Wurster.
