This balance is on loan from Prof Kirch. 

The ARF Wet Lab has a MARS5 instrument with 24 vessels. This Microwave Accelerated Reaction System (MARS) 5 unit was bought with the MarsXpress Temperature Control Option and the Mars Xpress TFM Vessel 40 place Starter Set  55 mL carousel that can hold up to 40 vessels. Our CEM representative is Michael Burnett.

Thermolyne 30400 furnace muffle oven that can maintain a temperature of up to 1100°C

This instrument is typically used for burning off organics, for carbonizing plant materials, and for loss-on-ignition studies.

It was replaced in 2018 with a new version of the same Thermolyne 30400 furnace.

The ARF unit was purchased with the four part swinging bucket rotor, two aerocarrier sealed tube inserts (7-10 mL), and two aerocarrier sealed tube inserts (10-15 mL).
