The Keyspan 19 High speed USB adapter is used to convert from D9 Serial (9-pin) to USB when connecting research equipment to personal computers.
Associated Equipment: Sokkia Total Stations, Portable XRF, Magnetometer
The driver needs to be installed on Mac and Windows computers prior to connecting the device.
Useage Notes: On Windows machines USB is typically Comm Port 4 (COM4) but the USB bus can handle many devices on that bus. Serial D-9 is often Comm Port 1, Parallel (printer) is Comm Port 2, and Modem is Comm Port 3. See the PDF manual below for further help.
