Contributions Series
ARF Publications is led by the Faculty Publications Committee, headed by Publications Chair Professor Junko Habu.
Started in 1965, ARF's main publications series, Contributions of the University of California Archaeological Research Facility, Berkeley, was initially focused on California archaeology. Since then, the series has grown to cover California, South Asia, Egypt, the South Pacific, and Latin America.
Special Publications
ARF also produces several special publications, featuring topics such as studies of Native Californian groups, Hawaiian archaeology, and lithic studies. All available publications can be purchased and mailed by filling out our order form and sending it to ARF with payment by check. Alternatively, to avoid paying for shipping, stop by ARF during regular business hours to purchase as many volumes as you'd like.
ARF on eScholarship
The ARF has a website on eScholarship, an open access scholarly publishing service by the University of California. The ARF site currently hosts research reports by UC Berkeley archaeologists in the Stahl Research Reports series.
AnthroHub archive
The Anthropology Library's AnthroHub web archive hosts additional open access content from past publications by Berkeley archaeologists. These include the serials UC Archaeological Survey (1948-1972) and UC Publications in American Archaeology and Ethnology (1903-1964).
Discontinued ARF Newsletters
View an archive of past ARF newsletters produced periodically in the 1990s and 2000s. Today, these communication modes have been replaced with Weekly Events emails, the ARF Calendar, as well as ARF's Facebook and Twitter feeds.
