Announcing Wenner-Gren Foundation support for the ARF Field School

  1. Home

We are delighted to announce that the ARF Field School is among five programs selected for funding in the Wenner-Gren Foundation's most recent round of Global Initiatives Grants.

The Wenner-Gren grant will support Inclusivity and Ethics in Archaeological Training: The ARF Field School. This program will pilot an 8-week commuter field school designed to make archaeology more accessible. It provides stipends for BIPOC students and boosts the inclusion of low- and middle-income students entering the career. At the same time, the training will promote community-engaged archaeology and more sustainable ethical stewardship practices by using low impact methods to inventory and analyze orphaned collections and their legacy sites.

See the Wenner-Gren announcement and a list of all funded projects here

Summer 2025

The ARF will be closed during summer 2025. During the academic year the ARF is open daily and the Wednesday lunchtime lectures are offered both online and in-person unless otherwise noted. Subscribe to our Weekly Events email list for updates.
