Sarah Kansa

Sarah has a Ph.D. in archaeology (University of Edinburgh) and conducts zooarchaeological research at sites in the Near East and Europe. She stands on the Executive and International Committees of the International Council for Archaeozoology (ICAZ) and served as President of ICAZ for the 2018-2023 term. She is currently co-chair of the Publications Committee of the American Society of Overseas Research (ASOR) and serves on the Digital Technology Committee of the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA). In addition to her work at ARF, Sarah is Executive Director of the Alexandria Archive Institute, collaborating on projects to advance data publishing (with Open Context) and data literacy in archaeology.
