Multi-band RTK GNSS receiver with centimeter precision for surveying, mapping and navigation.
Comes with a EMLID Flow (formerly Reachview) app for iOS or Android, or can be integrated with 3rd party mapping apps. PPK baseline up to 100 km.

ARF's Internal Notes document has extensive information for ARF users.

For those struggling to connect with the ReachRS2 using Flow (Reachview) app please see this video.

The ARF has a T-Mobile Hotspot with limited data (2gb per month). Power on the hotspot prior to the EMLID Base and the EMLID will use the hotspot for connectivity and for retrieving NTRIP corrections.

Prior to fieldwork locate the closest NTRIP (realtime GNSS reference station) to your project area as described here.
Projects in North America see UNAVCO Realtime Stations. For other international locations see the IGS Station List. Commercial and satellite based correction systems are also available for a fee.

For example the closest base station to UC Berkeley is on Sibley Volcano and the important thing to note on this map is that the Mount Point is named "P224_RTCM3". ARF's UNAVCO login and password is already configured in the EMLID software.

A good introductory 2015 textbook on modern GNSS systems is available online free from NovATel.  The PDF is attached to this webpage.

The basic approach with the EMLID system involves using the Base unit as a static correction within a few kilometers of the Rover unit that is used for RTK mapping. The two units communicate using LoRa radio to allow Cm level precision data from the rover. The EMLID units can also be used independently with relatively high accuracy with post-processing if a CORS available within about 20km of the field site using RTKLIB for PPK correction as described here.

To use the EMLID with ESRI Field Maps software on the ARF Tablet see this document.
